Regeln für den ABBUC-Softwarewettbewerb Anwendungen 2025

1 Teilnehmer

1.1 Jeder kann am Wettbewerb als Autor oder Autorenteam mit einem oder mehreren Beiträgen/Programmen teilnehmen.

1.2 Eine ABBUC-Mitgliedschaft ist nicht erforderlich.

2 Teilnahmebedingungen

2.1 Teilnehmen dürfen Programme oder Dienste, welche als Anwendung oder Dienst einen Nutzen für Besitzer des Atari 8-Bit Computer bieten. Beispiele:

• Programme auf dem Atari 8-Bit
• PC unter Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Linux, BSD
• Programme auf beliebigen Homecomputern (C64, Atari ST, Amiga, …)
• Tablet oder Smartphone
• Mikrocontroller Boards oder Single-Board-Computer (SBC)
• Programme auf oder für einem Emulator
• Webseite oder Internet-Dienst

Die Programme müssen mit oder für den Atari 8-Bit nutzbar sein. Programme ohne direkten Nutzen für den Atari 8-Bit Computer sind nicht zugelassen.

Zu den Atari 8-Bit Computern zählen:

• Atari 400/800
• Atari 1200XL/600XL/800XL
• Atari 65XE/130XE/800XE
• Atari XEGS

2.2 In der Dokumentation der Anwendung oder des Dienstes muß ein Hinweis auf den ABBUC-Software-Wettbewerb unter Angabe des Wettbewerbsjahres genannt werden.

2.3 Nicht zugelassen sind kommerzielle Produkte, nicht öffentliche Dienste oder Produkte, welche schon einmal bei einem ABBUC Wettbewerb teilgenommen haben.

2.4 Erlaubt sind als Beiträge auch:

• Weiterentwicklungen bereits veröffentlichter Programme, wenn dadurch das Programm wesentlich erweitert oder verändert wird.
• Konvertierungen von anderen Computer-Plattformen, wenn ausschließlich eigener Code verwendet wird und der Autor schriftlich versichert, dass das Einverständnis etwaiger Rechteinhaber vorliegt, beziehungsweise ein Plagiatsvorwurf ausgeschlossen ist.
• Programmsammlungen, soweit die Programme thematisch zusammenhängen (z.B. ein DOS inklusive seiner Utilities).

3. Einreichung:

3.1 Der Einreichung folgendes beizulegen:

• eine maximal 1200 Worte umfassende Kurzbeschreibung beziehungsweise Bedienungsanleitung und wenigstens drei Screenshots/Bilder/Grafiken zur Veröffentlichung im ABBUC-Magazin.
• eine ausführliche Dokumentation, sofern die Kurzbeschreibung zum vollen Verständnis des Programms nicht ausreicht. In diesem Fall ist Rücksprache mit dem Software-Ressortleiter zu halten. Längere Beschreibungen werden auf der Webseite abbuc.de im Mitgliederbereich veröffentlicht.
• die Postadresse und Bankverbindung des Autors für die eventuelle Versendung oder Überweisung der Preise.

3.2 Die Dokumentation muss in Deutsch oder Englisch als ASCII/UTF-8-Textdatei vorliegen.

3.3 Der/die Autor(en) müssen eine schriftliche Bestätigung beifügen, dass er/sie alle Rechte an dem von ihm/ihr eingereichten Beitrag hat. Beinhaltet der Beitrag Material, über dessen Copyright der Autor nicht verfügt, hat er einen Nachweis des originalen Copyright-Inhabers beizufügen, dass dieser die Nutzung erlaubt.

3.4 Der Autor erklärt sich mit der Einsendung seines Beitrages bereit, im Falle von zivil- oder strafrechtlichen Schritten gegen den ABBUC, die aufgrund dieses Beitrages erfolgen, alles zu unternehmen, um Schaden vom ABBUC abzuwehren und gegebenenfalls entstandenen Schaden vollumfänglich zu kompensieren und die rechtlichen und wirtschaftlichen Konsequenzen zu tragen.

4 Einsendung

Information über die Einreichung samt Dokumentation ist an den Software-Ressortleiter per E-Mail oder über ein bereitgestelltes Uploadverzeichnis zuzusenden. Um einen Zugang zum Uploadverzeichnis zu erhalten, bitte eine E-Mail an software@abbuc.de senden. Der Beitrag muss bis spätestens 01.02. des Wettbewerbsjahres eintreffen. Korrekturen von vorher eingereichter Software sind bis zu diesem Termin noch möglich.

5 Prüfung der Programme

5.1 Der Software-Ressortleiter prüft die Programme auf die Einhaltung der unter Punkt 2 genannten Bedingungen. In Zweifelsfällen entscheidet er gemeinsam mit dem Vorstand des ABBUC über die Zulassung.

5.2 Der ABBUC behält sich das Recht vor, Wettbewerbsbeiträge abzulehnen. Eine Ablehnung wird schriftlich begründet.

6 Veröffentlichung für ABBUC-Mitglieder

6.1 Die zugelassenen Programme und Dienste werden im ABBUC-Magazin den ABBUC-Mitgliedern vorgestellt.

6.2 Vorhandene lange Erklärungen werden den Mitgliedern im geschützten Mitgliederbereich online zu Verfügung gestellt.

7 Präsentation durch die Autoren

Die Autoren dürfen ihre Programme sowohl vor als auch nach der Einsendung frei präsentieren, zum Beispiel in Form von Videos, Screenshots oder Texten in beliebigen Medien.

8 Abstimmung

8.1 Stimmberechtigt sind ausschließlich ABBUC-Mitglieder. Die ABBUC-Mitglieder bestimmen mit der Wahl die Einordnung der Software in eine der untenstehenden Kategorien (Siehe 10). Die Software wird in die dem mathematisch gerundetem Durchschnitt der abgegebenen Stimmen entsprechenden Kategorie eingestuft. Dabei ist 1 die höchste und 5 die niedrigste Kategorie. Die Ergebnisse werden im ABBUC-Magazin und auf der ABBUC-Webseite bekannt gegeben.

8.2 Es gibt folgende Möglichkeiten, abzustimmen:

• den dem entsprechenden ABBUC-Magazin beiliegenden Stimmzettel ausfüllen und an die Club-Adresse des ABBUC schicken, per Post oder Email,
• über eine Online-Wahlseite die Punkte vergeben.

8.3 Das wählende Mitglied muss sicherstellen, dass die Stimmabgabe bis einen Tag vor der Auszählung in der Clubzentrale eingegangen ist.

9 Wettbewerbsergebnis

Auf einer ABBUC Veranstaltung im Sommer werden die Programme in einer mit dem Vorstand des ABBUC und dem Moderator koordinierten Form präsentiert, normalerweise vom Software-Ressortleiter. Wenn möglich ist diese Veranstaltung online live im Internet offen zugänglich. Nach der Präsentation werden die abgegebenen Wertungen für jedes Programm ausgewertet und publiziert.

10 Preise

10.1 Die Programme werden nach dem Durchschnittsergebnis in folgende Kategorien eingestuft:

10.2 Überschreitet die Summe der Preise den Gesamtwert von 3.000 Euro, so werden die Preise der Kategorien angepasst, so das im Gesamtwert maximal 3.000 Euro ausgezahlt werden.

10.3 Die Übergabe der Preise erfolgt durch Banküberweisung (Geldpreise) beziehungsweise Versand (Sachpreise).

11 Allgemeine Veröffentlichung

Nach der Ergebnisverkündung kann jeder Autor über sein Programm frei verfügen und es allgemein veröffentlichen. Das Urheberrecht der Programme verbleibt bei den Autoren. Der ABBUC selbst wird die Programme nicht ohne Zustimmung der Autoren der Allgemeinheit zugänglich machen.

12 Rechtsausschluss

Das ABBUC-Software-Ressort disqualifiziert umgehend Programme welche gegen geltendes Recht verstoßen. Wird dies erst nach der Preisübergabe erkannt, hat der Teilnehmer den erhaltenen Geld- oder Sachpreis unverzüglich an den ABBUC zurückzugeben. Der Rechtsweg ist ausgeschlossen. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Rules for the ABBUC software competition Applications 2025

1 Participants

1.1 Anyone can enter the competition as an author or team of authors with one or more entries/programs.

1.2 ABBUC membership is not required.

2 Conditions of participation

2.1 Participation is open to programs or services that offer a benefit to owners of the Atari 8-bit computer as an application or service. Examples:

• Programs on the Atari 8-Bit
• PC under Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Linux, BSD
• Programs on any home computer (C64, Atari ST, Amiga, …)
• Tablet or smartphone
• Microcontroller boards or single-board computers (SBC)
• Programs on or for an emulator
• Website or internet service

The programs must be usable with or for the Atari 8-bit. Programs without direct use for the Atari 8-bit computer are not permitted.

The Atari 8-bit computers include

• Atari 400/800
• Atari 1200XL/600XL/800XL
• Atari 65XE/130XE/800XE
• Atari XEGS

2.2 The documentation of the application or service must include a reference to the ABBUC software competition and the year of the competition.

2.3 Commercial products, non-public services or products which have already taken part in an ABBUC competition are not permitted.

2.4 Contributions are also permitted:

• Further developments of already published programs, if the program is substantially extended or changed.
• Conversions from other computer platforms, if only the author’s own code is used and the author assures in writing that the consent of any copyright holders has been obtained, or that there is no accusation of plagiarism.
• Program collections, provided the programs are thematically related (e.g. a DOS including its utilities).

3. submission:

3.1 The submission must include the following

• a brief description or user manual of no more than 1200 words and at least three screenshots/images/graphics for publication in the ABBUC magazine.
• detailed documentation, if the short description is not sufficient for a full understanding of the program. In this case, the head of the software department must be consulted. Longer descriptions will be published on the website abbuc.de in the members‘ area.
• The author’s postal address and bank details for the possible dispatch or transfer of prizes.

3.2 The documentation must be available in German or English as an ASCII/UTF-8 text file.

3.3 The author(s) must enclose written confirmation that they hold all rights to the entry they have submitted. If the entry contains material for which the author does not hold the copyright, he/she must enclose proof from the original copyright holder that he/she authorizes its use.

3.4 By submitting his/her contribution, the author agrees that in the event of civil or criminal proceedings being taken against the ABBUC as a result of this contribution, he/she will do everything in his/her power to avert damage from the ABBUC and to fully compensate for any damage incurred and to bear the legal and economic consequences.

4 Submission

Information about the submission including documentation must be sent to the head of the software department by e-mail or via a provided upload directory. To obtain access to the upload directory, please send an e-mail to software@abbuc.de. The entry must be received by February 1st of the competition year at the latest. Corrections to previously submitted software are still possible up to this date.

5 Examination of the programs

5.1 The head of the software department will check the programs for compliance with the conditions mentioned under point 2. In cases of doubt, he/she shall decide together with the ABBUC Executive Board on approval.

5.2 The ABBUC reserves the right to reject competition entries. Reasons for rejection shall be given in writing.

6 Publication for ABBUC members

6.1 The approved programs and services are presented to ABBUC members in the ABBUC magazine.

6.2 Existing long explanations are made available to members online in the protected member area.

7 Presentation by the authors

Authors may freely present their programs both before and after submission, for example in the form of videos, screenshots or texts in any media.

8 Voting

8.1 Only ABBUC members are entitled to vote. By voting, ABBUC members determine the classification of the software in one of the categories below (see 10). The software is classified in the category corresponding to the mathematically rounded average of the votes cast. 1 is the highest category and 5 is the lowest. The results will be announced in the ABBUC magazine and on the ABBUC website.

8.2 There are the following ways to vote:

• complete the ballot enclosed with the relevant ABBUC magazine and send it to the ABBUC club address, by post or email,
• award points via an online voting site.

8.3 The voting member must ensure that the ballot is received at Club Headquarters by the day before the count.

9 Competition result

At an ABBUC event in the summer, the programs are presented in a form coordinated with the ABBUC board and the moderator, usually the software section head. If possible, this event is openly accessible live online on the Internet. After the presentation, the scores submitted for each program will be evaluated and published.

10 Prizes

10.1 The programs will be classified into the following categories according to the average result:

10.2 If the sum of the prizes exceeds the total value of 3,000 euros, the category prizes will be adjusted so that a maximum total value of 3,000 euros is paid out.

10.3 Prizes will be handed over by bank transfer (cash prizes) or by post (non-cash prizes).

11 General publication

After the announcement of the results, each author may freely dispose of his or her program and publish it generally. The copyright of the programs remains with the authors. The ABBUC itself will not make the programs available to the general public without the consent of the authors.

12 Exclusion of rights

The ABBUC Software Department will immediately disqualify programs that violate applicable law. If this is only recognized after the prize has been awarded, the participant must immediately return the cash or non-cash prize received to the ABBUC. Legal recourse is excluded. All rights reserved.
